Welcome everyone to the 2026 Resource Smart School Awards. Can I get a big hooray? Woo-hoo. Today we celebrate our sustainable community. What you're doing really does matter. You're helping your schools, your families, your communities, to make a difference, and we're really proud of that work you do.
The best thing about being a sustainable school is helping out every Friday with recycling and compost. In the future, our sustainable community will look clean and it will be really sustainable. I'm at the Resource Smart School Awards and I'm feeling so inspired by the amount of incredible initiatives that different school communities are doing.
My mind is blown; it is that cool. In your passport, the idea is that you're going to visit three destinations and you're going to collect inspiration and stamps along the way. Being a part of Resource Smart Schools is great because you're going to help the world be a better place.
And the winner is...
We are so excited to win this award today. We've been working really, really hard on our Resource Smart School modules and incorporating it all into our curriculum. Our work has paid off on winning this award, and it's just really an amazing accomplishment.
I know it's my name on the award, but it's very much a school effort and the whole staff and students just go along with all these crazy ideas that I have. Our school is amazing because of you. So can I have a big round of applause? So winning this award, it's a huge honor, not just towards me, but towards everyone here today in our entire school.
Learning about sustainability, caring for the Earth, it's a really huge honor. It feels really great to win this award, especially because a lot of us here are in year 12, so it's a great send-off for our last school year. So I'm very, very proud of our amazing sustainability team.
What's inspired me today has been all of the creativity and all the passion that is here today. So many people are really enthusiastic about what they're doing and they've come up with such creative ways to help save the Earth. Resource Smart School Awards!
