Coastcare Victoria is celebrating 25 years of supporting thousands of volunteers in protecting and enhancing Victoria’s 2,000 kilometres of coastline.

Through Coastcare Victoria, we’re connecting more than 10,000 people with Victoria’s coasts every year. Coastcare provides them with opportunities to help protect coasts and marine environments.

We launched Coastcare Victoria in 1994, making ours the first state in Australia to formally support its coastal volunteers.

Today, a network of more than 2,200 volunteers are the powerhouse of Coastcare Victoria. They use their local environmental knowledge to plan and deliver projects.

Several events are taking place across the state, celebrating the milestone with volunteers and reflecting on local achievements.

Coastcare Victoria supports volunteers and activities through grant funding, volunteer training, assistance with project requirements and facilitating connections among coastal networks. If you’re interested in connecting with nature and other Victorians who love our coastline, you too can become a Coastcare Victoria volunteer.
